Family Pictures

A few weeks ago we got some family pictures taken. They turned out so cute! Here is a little sneak peak....

Aren't they so cute? Things are going good in the Nelson home. We just had our first Thanksgiving with Deacon... but did I take any pictures? No. It was a good Thanksgiving. My Mom came down for a couple of days and made dinner here. She brought all the good stuff. I did, however, help with stirring the mashed potatoes and I made a pumpkin roll :0) Madison really loved having "Mongan" (which is what she says for Grandma... I have no idea where she got that from), come and stay. Mom slept on a blow up mattress in Mad's room and she woke up in the middle of the night with Mad peaking at her through the bars of her crib... kind of creepy. My Dad drove up Thanksgiving day and then had to head back home that night. It was a good time. Probably the funniest moment of the day was when we were sitting at the table eating dinner, Mad grabbed my boob and said, "Mommy, pump." Everyone was quiet and then we all laughed.

Pictures!

Here are a few pictures that I've been meaning to put up. Our little family is doing well. Deacon is such a good baby. He just sleeps all day long and occasionally wakes up. The first thing Mad does when she gets up is ask for "Kekon." She is the best big sister. Hope you enjoy!

Our little Yankee.

How cute are my kids?

Out for a little walk.

I love this little girl!

Here's my little guy. So cute.

Baby Deacon

Deacon came on October 30th! Our original due date was November 10th but we were scheduled for a C-section on the 3rd. I started getting contractions a few days before he was born and I just thought they were the annoying braxton hicks. By Saturday, they were about 8 minutes apart and throughout the even they got closer and closer. I figured we would have him before the 3rd but I didn't think it'd be that night!

My contractions at this time were fairly painful and about 5 minutes apart. Finally at 2 am we started packing to head to the hospital. Once we got into the car my body went into overdrive and I was getting really painful contractions about every 3 minutes. We got to the hospital a little after 3 am and by this time my contractions were so painful I was just crying. The nurses checked me and I was already 7 cm dialated! They called the doctor in and Deacon was born, by C-section, at 4:21 am.

He is the sweetest little guy! I love him so much. Our first night home with him was rough because he just wanted to be held, but by night two he is sleeping through the night and has been waking up for only 2-3 feedings. He is such a doll. I'll post more pictures as soon as Scott transfers them from my phone to the computer.

Mad has been so great through this process. She just loves him. She is always wanting to give him kisses and hugs. When she wakes up she always ask for, "Kecon." When he cries she'll go and try and put his binkie in his mouth. It's very cute. We are just loving having our two cute little kids. We're very blessed!

More Furniture Re-Do's

This little guy I got from the DI for $5. I think he turned out great! We spray painted him blue and than made his mane from a mop that I bought at family dollar. I love our little horse but I still feel like he needs something a little extra.... I might paint poka dots on his back but I'm not sure. If you have any great ideas let me know!

This table was our first transformation. I forgot to take a before picture but it was an old brown table that I found on the side of the road. My fabulous husband went and picked it up much to his embarrassment but he's happy he did! We used regular paint for this and than Scott antiqued the edges. We just bought some chairs off KSL that we're redoing to go with this table so I'll post soon. Hope you enjoy!

Furniture Re- Do's

So Scott and I have a new hobby... redoing old furniture. My favorite project so far has been this nightstand that I found at the DI for $10. I'm so in love with it. Every night I pet it and say, I love you nightstand. You're so beautiful. I know, it's weird. But look how amazing! Do you love?

Here she is looking fabulous! Can you believe I made this? I'm that cool.

Here she is almost done....

Here it is looking drabby and sad.

Well, it's been a while since I've blogged and it's all been because I'm lazy. Some new things that have happened are Scott graduated from school. YEA! Now the job hunt has begun. Mad is almost 16 months and is learning everyday. She's so smart. She can point to her eyes, nose, ears, toes, fingers, teeth, tongue, and booty. If you say bum she'll just look at you. But if you say booty she knows right where it is. She is such a genius!

Some other exciting news is that we're expecting our 2nd baby! We're due in November. Just in time for the holidays. We're keeping our fingers crossed for a boy so keep yours crossed too!

This is one of my favorite pictures of Mad taken a couple of months ago.

Look at this smile! This picture of her is my favorite. I could just kiss that face forever.

While doing the Easter Egg Hunt. Hilarious.

Mad's Easter dress. Isn't she adorable?

Mad's Randomness

Mad loves sitting in her buzz chair while playing with my phone. But more than that she loves those overly bright stripped pants she's wearing.
Discovering her shadow.
Her new thing is to put a towel on her head and walk all over. Mostly she'll cover her face and run blindly around the house until she's knocked down by various large objects.
Mad and her bestie Frankie. Frankie is my BF's little guy. So cute!

Mad's One Year Birthday

Well, it was Mad's 1st Birthday yesterday. I can't believe my baby is a year old. She is the biggest blessing. Each and every day she brings so much joy into our lives. I am so grateful for her and her sweet little spirit. Here are some pictures from her little birthday party.... oh, and pay attention to the fabulous checkered cake I made. Man, I am SO talented!
