Here comes Santa Claus...

This past week we took Mad to the mall to see Santa. I thought she'd cry and throw a fit but sure enough, she loved him! She just sat on his lap and stared at him. She even leaned back and got all comfy. She was so stinking cute! I think Mad likes Christmas. She loves our tree- although we don't let her go near it. She has this tendency to put the pine needles in her mouth. It's so exciting celebrating our first Christmas with Mad. I've just loved shopping for her and wrapping her presents.

Time flies...

Wow, so I haven't posted in a long time and I have a TON of pictures. But that's all people really care about right? Is pictures. So here they are....

Mad is standing! I can't believe it but here she is. Oh and don't mind the outfit.....

At my job I'm lucky enough to have a week off for Thanksgiving. I've decided that my #1 goal would be to scrapbook Mad's pictures. It's been on my to do list for about.. let's see how Mad old... 10 MONTHS. And I must admit, it took me a while to get into the grove of it but here are some of my favorite pages. Hope you enjoy!

This is a good picture to use as blackmail someday. On this day Mad put her finger into her nose and then into her mouth. Disgusting but she's at the age that it's semi cute and hilarious.

This is a little wagon that I checked out at my work. Mad loves it. I took her for a little ride in it and she thought that was the coolest thing. Don't worry fellow employees... I will return it! I promise. But probably not til after Christmas when I buy her one :0)

Look at that face. How STINKIN cute.

Trick or Treat!

Today a group of us went trick or treating at the mall and grocery stores. I could not believe how many people go out to trick or treat around town. Mad had a pretty good time. She held her little bag while she sat in her stroller. There was one lady who wouldn't give her a treat cause she was little- hoe bag. But other than that Mad enjoyed seeing all the people. There were so many fun and creative costumes. I just love my little duck!

Mad is growing and growing. We just went to her 9 month check up yesterday and since July she has only gained one pound but she has grown three inches! She did very well at the doctor's office. She even showed off her crawling and climbing skills.

Today after we went to visit Scott, we were walking away and she looked at Scott and said, "Dad." Then she started fussing so we went back to Daddy and that calmed her down. I guess she loves Daddy more than me!

Washington DC

Well I made it through my 4 days in DC. It was definitely a good experience. For those of you who don't know, I went to DC for a work conference. I was there Monday - Thursday. I would love to go back with Scott for like a week. You need at least that to see a lot more than I was able to see. I was able to see the big fancy Cathedral, Arlington Cemetery, The Washington Monument, The Capital, Lincoln Memorial, and the Zoo. We took a night tour and it was a lot of fun I just wish that we could've gotten out at more places. DC is so different from Utah, it's crazy. It's humid, muggy, fast, everyone wears suits and carries their dry cleaning around, it's great.

My favorite part is probably when we were heading over to the Ronald Raegan Building to go to the food court and we got caught in a huge rain storm. Some of us had gotten ponchos but of course the minute I put mine on it slit open so I got soaked. We were in the storm for about 15 minutes. We were all soaking wet but it was so funny.

Arling Cemetery was another awesome place. I just could not believe how many people are buried there. The cemetery goes on forever. It really put into perspective how many men and women have given and continue to give their lives to this country. There was one grave where the man had been to the Vietnam, Korean, and WW2. That one took me by surprise. Can you imagine being in 3 wars? I just am so grateful to live in this country.

Hope you enjoy my pictures! It was so awesome. I am so grateful I got to go there and see our nations capital. It truly is such a beautiful place. I had so much fun with my fellow co-workers. These were people who I didn't know very well but we had a blast. We laughed so much and now have a ton of inside jokes. Good times! I hope anyone looking at these pictures FULLY enjoys them because man oh man did I have the hardest time with my camera. My Dad gave me some big fancy smanchy camera but every time I took a picture it came out blurry. I"m pretty sure I spent half the trip complaining about my camera. If you don't believe me just ask my peeps.

Mama's little duck says, "Quack quack quack."

Today I had great intentions to dress Mad up in her duck costume, go to the pumpkin walk, get pumpkins and carve them. Well, Mother Nature had other ideas for us. It started pouring so we didn't get to do any of those things. But we still had a good day. Scott was at our local Kmart with a poison control booth- for his internship, so we went down to visit him. Also at Kmart was our fire dept. I think Mad enjoyed the firetruck. She liked the bright red. She also liked the fireman who held her. Isn't she so cute in her costume? In one of these pictures she has a blanket over her head- Scott was covering her head with the blanket tonight and she would book it across the room with it on. She had no idea where she was heading but she was going there fast. She is so funny. Today we were in Sam's, and as you can imagine Mad got lots of attention in her costume. The whole time we were there she was just bobbing her head up and down and singing. She's quite the little ham. Love my little family! Unfortunately all is not 100% well in the Nelson home. Scott's beloved Yankee team did not make it to the world series- very sad for him. And I'm leaving on Monday to go to Washington DC for a work conference. He was planning on passing his time playing with Mad and watching the Yankees. Feel free to send your condolences to our Facebooks.

My Little Fire Chief

Here are a few current pictures of Mad. Isn't she a doll? I'm so sad that I don't have any pictures from Boo at the Zoo. The reason I don't is because we didn't go. I got the flu and was stuck at home all day. I was so sick that I actually had to send Mad to her Grandparents because I was too sick to take care of her on my own. It was sad. But I'm all better now- good enough to blog! Life is good in the Nelson home. Scott is just busy as ever doing all the things he does. I'm busy with work and with Mad. Luckily tis the season of Holidays so I have a lot of paid days off coming up :0) I LOVE paid days off. I hope you enjoy these pictures we've posted!

Here is Mad in what I call her Gaga glasses. When she was going to be Lady Gaga for Halloween I was totally going to make her wear these, only she will only wear them for about 5 seconds. But isn't she cute?

Here she is being a little fire chief. She loves riding around in this little wagon.

These are her skeleton jamies. So cute!

Crafty Me...

While facebook stalking, I saw that my friend had made this wreath. I thought that it was cute and I just had to make one. I decided red was a good choice since it's fall and Christmas is approaching. This was super easy but very time consuming. You have to cut out circles from felt, and spiral them to make these cute little flowers. The pictures don't do it justice. It's much better in person. The red is deeper. Here's the website for complete instructions.

Madison is growing so fast. She makes me laugh all of the time. These are some new pictures from the last few weeks...

I swear she is worse than a dog when it comes to begging for food. If we eat while sitting on the couch she does all she can to try and climb up and get some food. On this night, she especially loved the orange creamy Scott had. That pretty much was the best treat ever.

She has also mastered climbing the first 2 steps. She might climb more, but I always take her off. She's pretty proud of herself :0)

This is her new trick. She loves doing this. It's so cute. Luckily she stood still long enough for me to grab the camera.

Here she is riding Daddy's shoulders. Isn't she so cute?
