Mad's Sleeping Funnies

Mad cracks me up with how she sleeps. She sleeps just like me it's crazy. She lays on her left side (like I do) and she always wraps her blanket up and puts it between her legs and hugs it (just like I do). She also loves sleeping on her tummy every once in a while. She's a crazy girl! I love you baby!

Happy Birthday Scott!

July 30th was Scott's Birthday. To celebrate we had a BBQ with our family. I made him some blue cupcakes and blue chocolate chip cookies. Who knew that you could dye chocolate chip cookies? But they were awesome.

I told Scott to bend low so he could fit in the picture but it turns out he looks like he's just popping a squat.

Blue cookies. So cool.

Hottest girls in town.

For Scott's birthday Mad got him a brand new iMac computer. Isn't she great? We love you, Scott! Hope it was a good one.

Family Fun

Last weekend we went down to Scott's sister's house to celebrate her 3 year olds birthday. This is Mad with her cousin. I realize that I only ever take pictures of Mad. I should start taking pictures of our other family, don't you think?

A little drool never hurt anything.

Hit in the head with a nurf gun. How rude.

Fabric Flowers

Me and two fabulous friends, Megs and Ang, got together to make these adorable fabric flower decor. They turned out great! We met at Hobby Lobby and it took us about an hour to pick out our fabrics (we're a bit indecisive). Then we began our project. It was so much fun. We chatted, drank Pepsi and expressed our craft side. Here are some pics of the final project and of us of course... oh, and don't mind my bright blue pants.

These are my flowers. Aren't they cool?

Here are all of ours together

These were so much fun to make and surprisingly pretty easy. We got the idea from Makeitandloveit.com. Try it out!

Good things come in 3's

A few weeks ago things were rough for me and Scott. Man, it just felt like things were not going our way. We bought a home in October so we got the $8,000 home owners grant. We thought we'd get it in February but here we are in July and we still got nothing. Well, a few weeks ago we got a letter saying that we still needed to turn in all this stuff and it was so depressing. Then I found out that at my job that I was going to have to move to another position and my hours were going to be cut. That was on the same day that we found out about our tax money. It was rough! There were other discouraging things but I don't really remember them... anyway, things are looking up. We still don't have our tax money but this week we found out that Scott got a grant for school. YEA!!! And I got moved back into my old position permanently. YEA!!! They say good things come in 3's and I think the 3rd thing is that I found this adorable pair of purple sandals at Ross for only $13! Life is looking good. We're starting to feel like the universe doesn't hate us. Sometimes it's so easy to dwell on the bad things but we really need to focus on what we have... this is the lesson I've learned. I've also had to be reminded that things happen when they happen and it's not always on our time schedule. This is a lesson that I feel I have to learn over and over again. Shesh. You'd think I'd get it by now.

Moving onto my Madison update... today all of a sudden Mad would roll onto her belly and then right onto her back again. She did it like it was no big thing! Like she's been doing it every day for the last 5 months. Ahh.. she's so cute. Daddy picked her out some adorable pink sunglasses and she actually wears them. When I put them on her Mad gets so much attention. It's great. Here are some pictures of her new stylin shades....

Daddy's Little Princess

Another tidbit, Mad has been sleeping through the night since she was like 3 months but in the last few weeks she's started waking up in the middle of the night. So we've just gotten up to feed her. Well this week Scott put his foot down and said, "No more." When she cries he gets up, gives her her binkie and that's it. No food til 7 am. I had my doubts but it's working. Today she woke up around 5 am and I was going to get up and feed her but he said no and by golly she went back to sleep! Scott has proven that mommy doesn't always know best. Sometimes Dad's have some tricks up their sleeves. Go Scott!

This is a conversation that Scott and I recently had. And just so you know, we call Mad little girl.

Me: "Who do you love more? Me or little girl?"

Scott: "I love both my girls."

Me: "Who's prettier, me or little girl?"

Scott: "You both are pretty."

Me: "If you had to throw me or little girl off the plank who would you throw?"

Scott: "Well probably you since you can swim."

This makes me laugh whenever I think about it. That's all.

Catching up...

For Father's Day we went to Brigham to my in-laws. We had a BBQ and the kids played with the water slide. It was a fun day. We put Mad into her swimsuit for the first time and she loved it. Here are some pics from that day

Mad with her cousins. Braxton (on the very left) always says this about Mad, "Hims beautiful." It's so cute.

Here are some more recent pictures of our little family. Aren't you jealous of our cuteness factor?

Other than the pictures there's not much new for us. Mad is rolling over like crazy. She likes to roll onto her tummy and than cry until you move her onto her back again. She loves eating. I gave her green beans and she devoured them. Scott is going to finish his last year of school in the fall and I'll be working full time. We're hoping to go to Vegas this summer we're not positive. I really hope we get to! I need some sun.
